On June 9, the “Intelligent Ultralight Aircraft Insurance Seminar” hosted by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of China (China AOPA) concluded successfully at the Lantian Laboratory in Anyang, Henan. Yang Zhou, Chairman of Zhonghui International Insurance Brokers Co., Ltd., led a delegation to attend. Assistant to the President Wan Jialun, General Manager of the Market Cooperation Department Su Xiaoming, and other core team members participated in the seminar throughout, joining 4 leading industry enterprises and 2 insurance institutions to jointly explore new pathways for risk protection in the intelligent ultralight aircraft industry.
The low-altitude economy is developing rapidly, and insurance innovation brooks no delay. As intelligent ultralight aircraft gradually become a reality in the form of “aerial motorcycles,” the low-altitude economy behind them has become a new driving force for economic growth. However, behind the rapid development of the industry, there are many challenges such as test flight accidents, operational risks, and technological updates. Traditional insurance solutions lag behind in both coverage scope and underwriting mechanisms. Underwriting work lacking historical data support has become an industry pain point, and innovative insurance solutions are urgently needed to protect and escort industrial development.
A consensus plan was reached: build a full-cycle risk map and dynamic protection model. The seminar proposed equipping mature insurance products in production, sales, and other links to transfer risks. In the R&D and testing stage and operational scenarios, innovative combinations of insurance products covering comprehensive risks were launched to achieve seamless coverage of risk protection. By dynamically collecting flight data of intelligent ultralight aircraft, the accuracy of risk pricing is improved, providing sufficient data support for airframe risk underwriting. Through monitoring and analysis of flight data at key nodes, insurance solutions are optimized and adjusted in a timely manner, forming an elastic product ecosystem design covering airframe risks.
Industry collaboration: from single-point breakthroughs to ecosystem co-construction. After the meeting, relevant persons in charge of Zhonghui International stated that they will rely on the resources of the China AOPA platform to continuously break down barriers between the industry side and the insurance side, and promote the implementation of a risk protection system for intelligent ultralight aircraft. As Ding Bangxin, Executive Secretary-General of China AOPA, said: “Insurance innovation is the catalyst for technological breakthroughs. Only with a sound risk protection mechanism can the intelligent ultralight aircraft market usher in explosive growth.” The successful holding of this seminar injected new momentum into the high-quality development of the low-altitude economy and also pointed out the direction for risk prevention and control and sustainable development of the intelligent ultralight aircraft industry.
